Starlings are a species of lemur, lizard, bird cat monkey kind of alien furries.Lore of varjak is starlings obsessed with consciousness and individuality, unable to cope with the idea of their bodies and their selves as part of the bigger planet which they are molded from, scared of death, all these issues.
